Kleklji iz Slovenije. / Bobbins from Slovenia.
Ob
cerkvene potrebe, za plemiče in premožne meščane, za praznike in posebne dogodke.
V težkih delovnih razmerah so v svoje izdelke vpletale ure, dneve, tedne, mesece,
celo leta svojih življenj; v izdelavi filigranskih podrobnosti so izgubljale
vid in zdravje v prisilni drži nad svojim delom. Slabo plačane, brezimne in
prezrte so izdelovale mojstrovine, ki so bile zanje nedosegljive – simbol bogastva
in razkošja, ki so ga ustvarile z lastnimi rokami, a ga vendar niso nikoli dosegle
instalacijo v poklon vsem čipkaricam – nekdanjim in današnjim. K sodelovanju vljudno
povedalo o vas, vašem čipkarskem ustvarjanju in vašem odnosu do čipk.
Instalacija bo postavljena jeseni 2013 v Ljubljani.
At occasion of 250th anniversary of
establishing lace-making school
in Ljubljana,
the first lace-making school in Slovenia.
For centuries thousands of lace makers around the world made lace for court
and liturgical needs, for noble people and
wealthy citizens, for holidays and special occasions. In difficult working conditions they interlaced hours,
days, weeks, months, even years of their lives in production of lace, they lost eyesight in the manufacture of filigree details and health in forced posture above their work. Underpaid, anonymous and
overlooked they produced masterpieces that were unavailable
to them - a symbol of wealthy and luxury, which was created by their own hands,
but they never reached it or were part of it.
In the year 2013, when we mark 250 years since the first lace-making school in Slovenia was opened – it was established in Ljubljana in 1763, I decided to prepare an art installation in tribute of lace makers – former and nowadays. I kindly invite you to participate in it also. You can cooperate by sending me a pair of your bobbins and completed application form below on the following address: Afrodita Hebar Kljun, Tržaška cesta 39, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, Europe. I'll be pleased if you write something about yourself and lace making in your area also, enclose picture material, photo or anything else that will tell something about you, your lace making and your relationship with lace.
Installation will be set in autumn 2013 in Ljubljana. I’ll inform you about its progress by e-mail and on this blog. For any further information I’m available by e-mail: afrodita.hebar@mat.si with pleasure.
You can invite your lace colleagues, friends and relatives who work lace to participate in the installation also. I’ll be grateful if you’ll forward information about it to anyone who might be interested on it.
